After studying Biomedical Science and beginning a Masters in Biochemistry in 2013, I realised that I wanted a career change. I decided to go back to school and follow my very first childhood dream, which was to become a vet! Six challenging but rewarding years later I graduated as a veterinary surgeon from the University of Adelaide in 2020. Hills Veterinary Clinic has allowed me to follow my passion in small animal medicine, and I am excited to continue to develop my interest in diagnostic imaging, including both radiography and ultrasonography. I enjoy applying the problem-solving skills I learnt from both of my degrees to improve the lives of both my patients and their owners. The puppy kisses are pretty great as well.
I grew up in Blackwood, and after spending a few years living north for my studies, I have happily returned to being an Adelaide Hills local. I currently live in Mount Barker with my partner and our naughty but beautiful kitten Fidget, who was a stray we found living on Roseworthy Campus in our final year of study.
My hobbies include reading as many books as I possibly can, playing piano, and discovering new local pubs. My partner is an equine vet and has spent her entire life around horses, so I am also learning how to ride. I think I am much better at cuddling her two babies – Rose (a stubborn brumby mare) and Keely, (a cheeky Percheron filly) – than I am riding them, but I'm giving it an enthusiastic go nonetheless.
