I grew up in Perth and studied at Murdoch University, and spent many happy hours skiing on the Swan river. I graduated in 1985 and spent a year in Adelaide’s northern suburbs before moving to the UK for 5 years, where I was based in Birmingham & Nottingham.
In 1994 Hilary, my wife, and I returned to Adelaide and founded the Glenelg Veterinary Centre. 18months later we bought the Eden Hills Veterinary Clinic on Shepherds Hill Road, and moved it to its present location a few years later. About 15 years ago we sold the Glenelg clinic to focus on the Hills Veterinary Centre.
I have spent most or my career in small animal medicine, and have undertaken post-graduate studies in Veterinary Oncology, practice management and more recently behavioural medicine. I am in the process of studying for membership exams in Veterinary Behaviour, and hope to complete (or pass actually!) them in June this year, to be admitted to the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists.
I have always loved small animal medicine but am very excited at the prospect of extending our behavioural services.
I have been blessed to work with a fantastic group of people at the centre, over the years, who make it a pleasure to come to work.
Apart from 2 daughters we have Cuba and Riley the Labradors, and Trevor the maniac kitten.
When not at the clinic I love water-skiing, blacksmithing, and coaching netball.
